Congratulations to Don Burrier – 2021 Together Initiative/Toby Franks Community Cat Champion

Congratulations to the 2021 Together Initiative/Toby Franks Community Cat Champion honored at the Ohio Community Cat Summit: DON BURRIER of North Canton!

Before retiring, Don was the director of the Elyria Public Library. He is a former board member of the Friendship APL (1980s) in Lorain County.

Don has managed and cared for countless outdoor cats over the years. providing more than 300 winter cat shelters to residents of Stark, Summit, and Tuscarawas Counties in the past three years, volunteering his time and resources to do so.

Last winter, along with Crystal Riggi of Riggi Rescue, he conducted a shelter drive where more than 80 shelters were constructed and distributed.

Thank you, Don Burrier, for all of your efforts on behalf of Ohio’s community cats! Don joins the impressive list of past winners of this award: Toby Franks, Laura Evans, and Carlona Coker.
